How Do I Find Addiction Treatment Centers in San Marcos, Texas?
Question by briana c: How do I find addiction treatment centers in San Marcos, Texas?
I’m thinking of getting my grandfather treated for his alcoholism. He started drinking alcohol last year because that’s when my grandmother died. It has been really hard for him and my heart just breaks seeing him so sad. He was no longer the cheery person that I used to know. Lately, he has been so depressed and it really worries me. Since he’s quite old, I’m wondering about his health too. I want to find a treatment center for him.

Oh, I’m sorry about your grandmother. It must be really tough for your grandfather. I could only imagine the pain that he’s going through, and even then, I know what he’s feeling is a thousand times more painful. I do hope he agrees to getting himself treated. Maybe you could tell him that your grandmother won’t be happy about what he’s doing to himself. As for addiction treatment centers, it would be good if you would take your grandfather to a doctor first. That way, the doctor will be able to check up on him and tell you which treatment center you should bring him to.

Will he want treatment? Treatment is only good if he decides to do it. The best u can do is get all the info on some recovery homes and offer the suggestion and tell him that u love him and hate to see him hurting. Say u miss grandma too. You can call Alcoholics Annonymous and get the info for the recovery homes in your area or go to Google & enter recovery homes. Also, upon your/his request, AA will have someone come to his house any time of day or night to talk with him and maybe get him to vent his sorrow & seek help. Note: The best time to broach this subject is when he’s hung over because he’ll be more sucseptible to the suggestion. If you need more info or just to talk, email me.
