Abuse Maybe to Tell or Not?

Question by babytwilight024: abuse maybe to tell or not?
My question is my sister is in a relationship with a guy she met about 2 yrs ago everything started out fine but then he got verbally abusive which she doesnt seem to care about that she has 2 children one by him the other with her ex husband well the older one who is now two he likes to yell at. She has just told me when she was pregnant with the first one he had knocked her down when he was drunk and she had locked him out of the room for the night nothing happened like that agian susposedly well then she tells me her one month old he has drop from aleast a foot onto the bed same thing with the older but onto the floor she yelled at him about the younger one but not the older due to she could at least get her balance after being dropped (he dropped her onto floor from liek 2 feet) I want her to leave him but i live out of state and her and my husband do not get along so she refuses to move up her afraid first husband will get custody over first child. He has no chance of getting cusduty b.c he has 2 children already he cannot see due to he was put in jail for drugs. And my family that lives closer to her she lies to and says everything is ok and my mom would take her in but has no room b.c she lives with a friend. Im not sure if i should tell my aunt b.c she will lecture her because she was in an abusive relationship when she was younger and my sister will then lie and not tell me nething and im afraid to do this b.c i dont want her to feel she has no one to convide in. But i want it to end before something really bad happens So QUESTION IS do i tell the rest of the family now or is it to early to jump the gun ont hat????
Reggie since you are a parole officer i have a question he is on parole if i report him to his parole officer will they actually do nething without proof what kind of proof would i need

Ok, first remember that people in your sister’s situation never tell the whole truth. If she says her babydaddy dropped an infant by a foot, chances are he’s done this many times and more than a foot. Do you realize this poor one month old infant will probably not live for very long unless somebody steps in and calls the authorities?

If I sound angry, it’s not at you….it’s at your idiot sister thinking her love life is more important to her than this poor innocent baby. I’m in the mental health field, and I can promise you, these dead babies crop up every single day in this country and it’s always the same – babymama wants to get laid more than she cares about her kids. And then the family feels guilty.

I realize I’m being blunt, but you are UNDER reacting. Who cares if she stops confiding in you? What are you getting out of her “confessions” other than sleepless nights?

I don’t know how this could be most easily done, but you can call her local CPS anonymously. I would tell as many family members as possible what you’re doing and then ask them to support you. Get people calling them and do it by the end of the day.

If it makes this easier, this isn’t about someone being in an abusive relationship. This is about 2 babies who are at extreme risk and a mom who doesn’t care. This never ends well. And if she gets pissed at you, I personally would ignore her, but if you want to say something, tell her that when the welfare of babies is on the line, there ARE no secrets.
